Simplicity of A_n for n>4. One additional topic, which might be selected from: Nilpotent groups; Linear groups; Free groups, generators and relations; Jordan-Holder theorem.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: State and prove Sylow's Theorem. Compute various central series of a finite group. State and prove the Orbit Stabilizer Theorem. Understand concrete finite simple groups. Understand the basics of free presentations. State, prove & apply any theorems covered in the course. Deduce simple properties which follow from any definitions or theorems given in the course.
