On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

• Use basic arithmetic on integers and fractions.
• Use percentages to solve real world problems.
• Manipulate basic set operations (union, intersection, complement).
• Factor polynomials by the highest common factor, difference of squares and grouping.
• Solve linear, quadratic, absolute value, exponential and logarithmic equations.
• Use the Cartesian plane to determine the distance, midpoint and slope of a line segment.
• Solve linear, quadratic and absolute value inequalities.
• Solve right and non-right triangles. Basic arithmetic of complex numbers. Rewrite complex numbers into polar form and apply DeMoivre’s Theorem.
