| BA Bachelor of Arts – Law as a Double Major or as a Minor Law & 1 other subject to degree level. First year - Either 15 (group 1) or 30 credits (group 1 & 7) of Law (if intending to move into the MH502 BCL degree in 2nd year, it is recommended that students take the 30 credit Law option)
- Plus choose up to 3 other subjects (or Critical Skills) from the groups available
Second year - Continue with Law as part of a Double Major or as a Minor in the BA degree
- Optional 10 credit Electives in second year
- Students who attain 40% or higher in Law in 1st year (and pass their other subjects) may apply to transfer into second year of the BCL (Law and Arts) programme or second year of the 4 year LLB Law degree (if intending to move into one of these specialised degrees in second year, it is recommended that students take the 30 credit Law option in first year). Students who have taken Accounting, Business or Criminology may apply to transfer to 2nd year of the BCL Law and Accounting, Business or Criminology respectively. Only BCL and LLB graduates are recognised by the King’s Inns as eligible to sit their entrance examination for entry to the barristers’ profession.
Students may apply to study overseas after second year (on Erasmus or Study Abroad) and graduate with a BA (International) after 4 years. See the International Studies website for details. - Only one of these can be taken as a double subject since the extra 15 credits for each are taught at the same time: Anthropology, Computer Science, German (beginner), History, International Development, Law, Sociology, Spanish (beginner).
