This module will provide students with the opportunity to explore selected aspects of Spanish-language literary and cultural production from recent decades. During this time, literature and culture have undergone change in response to globalisation, technological advance, and the social, political and ecological challenges that have shaped 21st-century life so far. The module will focus on specific literary and audiovisual texts, in addition to digital and/or web-based media. Students taking the module will be supplied with the critical frameworks and concepts that will enable them to engage in close readings of these texts, and to thereby uncover how they relate to 21st-century life and what they can tell us about the present historical moment.
