On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

• Understand and apply moderately advanced aspects of Old Irish verbal morphology (relative and passive verbs, imperatives and past formations) and syntax.
• Demonstrate familiarity with some aspects of the syntax of dependent clauses (esp. relative constructions).
• Demonstrate familiarity with the syntax of infixed and affixed grammatical elements.
• Translate simple Old Irish sentences.
