This course introduces students to the fundamentals of programming and numerical methods for mathematical and scientific applications. Topics include the Unix/Linux operating system, programming languages (Python, Fortran, C or C++ as appropriate); numerical differentiation and integration; numerical methods for ordinary differential equations. |
