Finding good research questions, positioning them in existing literature, developing a theoretical framework and clarifying your contribution to the field are basic building blocks of doing a PhD. Irrespective of the topic on which your PhD project is focused, you will have to address these issues. At the same time, these are quite challenging tasks, and it is often around these areas where PhD examiners or journal reviewers often question our research work. This module aims to provide students with insights into how to engage with these tasks and ultimately to develop their skills as future researchers, the skills that can be transferable between different research projects in the future.
