On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

• Explain and critique the strategic importance of global supply chain management in the global competitive business environment;
• Analyse and discuss the interaction between global supply chain management and other functional areas of a global business;
• Demonstrate and employ important workplace skills (e.g. co-operation, teamwork, meeting deadlines, problem solving, project management, communicating the process and outcomes of analysis of SCM organisational problem) in the context of both organisation problem analysis and in class discussions; and
• Explain the role of technology in global supply chain management and its impact on the different elements of the global supply chain.
