	Overview
	The object is to advance and consolidate the student's command of Latin and his/her ability to read with understanding and insight. In this module, students who have already achieved a basic working knowledge of Latin will be coached in the grammatical knowledge, dictionary skills, and practical techniques necessary for pursuing independent reading and study with understanding and with an appreciation of problems in linguistic interpretation.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Identify and explain the morphology, grammar and syntax necessary for reading Latin. Recognise the essential vocabulary for reading Latin. Demonstrate the skills of analysis and synthesis inherent in reading Latin. Display the ability to read Latin from a variety of authors.
