On successful completion of the module, students should have gained:
An understanding of current concepts and measures of development, of the roles of main global governance institutions (UN, WTO, IMF & World Bank).
A critical insight into current aid modalities and their effectiveness in promoting economic, political and social change.
An appreciation of the wider environmental, political and economic implications of rapid economic progress and population dynamics globally.
Students will have developed through the module assessment and tutorials their data collection, writing and presentational skills.
