• • be familiar with many aspects of the history and archaeology of medieval Ireland; be aware of the broad range of source materials available for the study of medieval Ireland;
• recognise features of medieval date in buildings and the modern landscape;
• appreciate ways in which knowledge of medieval Ireland can enrich our understanding of modern Irish history and society.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Major project or shorter project combined with class assignments/tests

• Pass standard: 40%

• Penalties: No late material accepted unless medical or other compelling reasons are established in writing. The expectation is for full attendance by students. Explanation in writing is required in every case of absence.
