| The Georgian era (1714-1830) was a period of innovation. This module explores the ways in which travel, trade with the East, and new technologies contributed to a consumer boom that transformed the Georgian home. Using a wide range of primary sources from diaries and letters to account books and inventories, this module will consider the impact of this consumer revolution, exploring what was new, who led taste and the competitive culture of keeping up appearances.
