| | The Dissertation provides students with the opportunity to engage in independent in-depth research on an approved topic relevant to the study of Ancient Classics. Typically, that research will be in an area that links to modules previously or currently taken; however, material examined elsewhere on the degree cannot be resubmitted as part of the dissertation. Working under the guidance of an assigned supervisor across both Semesters 1 and 2, the final goal is the production of a written dissertation of c.8,000 -10,000 words to cap the student’s work in Ancient Classics.
NOTE: GC351 is a compulsory module for 40-credit Major/Minor students. For Double Major students (i.e. those with Classical Studies as one of two subjects), the ten-credit GC351 option is available only if a minimum of 650 has been achieved across Second Arts Classical Studies modules (i.e. a 65% average in the subject for that year). |
