| This module consists of a systematic introduction to the grammar and vocabulary of the ancient Greek language. Starting from the alphabet and proceeding through fundamental morphology and syntax, students will be guided through a series of progressive readings that provide a thorough grounding in the language, while simultaneously introducing many aspects of ancient Greek culture as well as short selections from its literature from Homer to the New Testament. Based on the widely-used textbook Athenaze, the module is the first of a 4-semester sequence which will cover all the essentials necessary for higher-level study of Greek literature. |
