The module builds on the learning of ED680 and aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to enable them to plan, design and conduct research in education. They will learn to critically engage with educational research and relevant literature, differentiate between methodologies, critically evaluate the theoretical underpinnings and philosophical considerations of research paradigms, develop a sound research question, understand and make decisions about different methods of data collection and analysis and consider ethical implications. The module will consider research in a range of contexts relevant to education.
