This module introduces students to fundamental skills relating to audio. Acoustics and psychoacoustics are considered alongside critical listening skills; a component of the module, in which audio software is explored, allows for practical applications of the theoretical components. The module will include an introduction to programming language fundamentals. Key concerns of the module include:

-study of the physiology of hearing, auditive perception, acoustics of spaces and musical instruments
- an improved ability to express ideas relating to audio
- critical listening skills
- practical use of audio software
- programming fundamentals
