The aim of this module is to develop students’ knowledge and practical skill in Information & Communication Technologies as a tool for research and learning to a level appropriate to studying at University.

Revision of common word processing issues for academic essays and assignments: tabs; indents; footnotes; page numbering; inserting illustrations; etc. Excel: charts and graphs Using the Library and its range of services: an introduction Using the library catalogue Introduction to the internet and to search engines Searching for and evaluating information found online Using email; personal and university systems Introduction to Virtual Learning Environments.
