• Write a structured scientific report on their experience in the areas of chemical, pharmaceutical or related sciences.
• Create and deliver a presentation on their experience in the areas of chemical, pharmaceutical or related sciences.
• Describe the work programme carried out while on placement or internship.
• Describe techniques and skills that were acquired during the placement or internship.
• Describe and demonstrate orally an understanding of the topics given in the independent study exercise.

• Ideally six month internship or placement. In certain circumstances shorter internships or placements can be carried out in conjunction with a more demanding independent study exercise. This module commences in the summer, at the end of third year. • Teaching and learning methods include a placement or internship. • Preparation of a written project report following a set of guidelines. • Independent study of prescribed reading list. • Independent preparation of oral presentation following a set of guidelines.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Supervisor’s report, student’s written report, student’s oral presentation, student’s oral examination.

• Pass standard: 40%
