	Overview
	The students take advanced laboratory practical's based on instruments and techniques which are relevant to work carried out in the Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Industry, such as UV, GC, HPLC, IR, NMR and purification techniques of synthetic compounds. The students also carry out problem-based learning activities with focus on different aspects of the above techniques.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Gain practical experience in advanced methods of chemical analysis. Carry out both team work and independent study problem-based exercises. Acquire knowledge of the theoretical aspects behind instruments and techniques used in the Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Industry.
