This module will assist students to reflect critically on the development of the Further Education And Training (FET) system in Ireland. It explores the evolution of FET within the social, cultural and policy context of the Irish education system. It critically analyses how the nature of adult learning and pedagogy within the sector has influenced and been shaped by these contexts. The module will support students to assess how national and international policy legislation and polices intersect with practice in the field and to consider the future implications for the delivery of Further Education and Training.

A minimum of 80% attendance is required and active participation is expected in this module.
