This module focus on Universal Design in product design. Students will explore the challenges currently facing today’s society (wicked problems that are systemic in nature such as homelessness, healthcare, education). In response to these challenges students will learn how to create universally designed products and implement universal design principles at various stages of the design process. Covered in this module are: The 7 principles of Universal Design, The 29 guidelines of Universal Design, Universal Design case studies (good and bad examples), and the Universal Design checklist.
