Module code: PD216
Credits: 10
Semester: 1
Department: DESIGN INNOVATION
International: Yes
Coordinator: Dr Iain Macdonald (DESIGN INNOVATION)
Overview Overview

Visual communication is an essential means of branding and presenting ideas to an audience. A designer's portfolio is an essential calling card to employment.
As an essential part of the designer’s toolkit, effective visual communication aids the comprehension and sharing of research data, a new innovative solution or elements of a service or system. This module introduces the methodologies and tools of visual communication and leaves students with the essential skills to generate new graphics and manipulate images for both print and digital media. These skills are particularly relevant to the creation of a designer’s portfolio. The portfolio provides prospective employers with evidence of the designer’s repertoire and quality, and will be a key deliverable of this module.
