Module Objective:
To introduce the students to Applied Probability.

Markov chains; classification of states, limiting probabilities. Poisson process; interarrival and waiting time-distributions. Continuous time markov chains, birth and death processes, queues: M/M/1, M/M/k, finite capacity. Reliability models; hazard rates. Monte-Carlo simulation of random variables.
