Dutch is a West Germanic, Low German language spoken by around 24 million people worldwide. It is grammatically similar in many ways to standard German, but spoken Dutch can be very different in speech. This course follows on from the module GN213A 'Dutch for Beginners' and is only suitable for students who already have some knowledge of the language. It will focus on basic grammar, pronunciation, oral expression, and elementary aural and written comprehension. The course will also offer some useful background information on the culture and society of the Low Countries.
