• Show an awareness of the theoretical, ethical and practical issues involved in assessment.
• Competently conduct standard and diagnostic assessments with pupils, having obtained informed consent and having liaised with parents and other professionals, as appropriate.
• Competently read and understand psychological assessments carried out by professional psychologists.
• Understand the meaning of the results obtained and effectively communicate findings to parents and other professionals as appropriate

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): 1.Report 1,000 words 40% 2.Written assignment 1,000 words 40% 3.Applied Tasks 500 20% (1)Report based on documentation of assessments carried out by the school and an evaluation of their use in enhancing the learning and teaching of the pupil with whom the student was professionally involved on SEN placement (Oct-Nov) of the student. (2)Critically assess the ‘assessment for learning’ that took place in one lesson while on school placement. (3)Applied tasks which will assess active participation, understanding and application of ideas.

• Pass standard: 40%
• Satisfactory attendance is a requirement of this module
