The course is lecture based with prescribed additional reading and recommendations for self-directed study. Topics may vary from year to year but typically include how plant polarity is established during embryogenesis, how shoot and root apical meristems are established and maintained, how floral meristem identity is established during reproductive growth, how flower pattern and floral organ identity is established. An evolutionary approach to aspects of plant development is emphasized as much as possible.
