International development looks at the development challenges and opportunities confronting people and societies living in the Global South (including Africa, Asia and Latin America), while addressing the myriad of global challenges associated with sustainable development for the planet as a whole. >>As a student of International Development in the Bachelor of Arts degree you will explore issues such as globalisation, climate change, food security, poverty, conflict, disasters and other humanitarian emergencies, human rights, health, education, gender, inequality and empowerment, from an international development perspective.

Gain an understanding of development activism and how development can be planned, organised and managed to meet the needs of all, especially the most marginalised communities around the world.

We examine the performance of international and national development actors (UN, Governments, NGO’s and Civil Society groups) in meeting these challenges, and in providing a better world for all.
