This course requires 4 additional subjects Mature students - Information: Mature Applicants Mature applicants are assessed separately to school-leavers. Mature applicants are 23 years or older by 1st January in the year of entry to the University. For part-time/flexible degrees the mature age is 21. Mature applicants who have a disability If you have a disability or specific learning difficulty (e.g. dyslexia), and require examination support for any written tests that may be required, please submit supporting documentation by 15 March 2024 to the Access Office. Duration: 4 years A year of study is 60 credits.
*Students have the option to apply for a work placement in Year 3. Placement opportunities are competitive and limited. If a student does not opt to apply for a placement, or is not successful in their application, they will progress directly into Year 3 followed by Year 4. Career options: Graduates of this programme will be in a position to take exams for entrance to the Honorable Society of King’s Inns in order to begin training as a barrister and are eligible to progress to take the Law Society of Ireland’s FE1 examinations to begin training as a solicitor. Studying law also opens up a whole range of career options outside of being a lawyer such as: journalism; policy development; business and finance; management consulting; the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) sector; and national and international public administration (such as with at the EU or UN).
