In successful organisations successful marketing does not occur by chance, but rather through careful analysis of market needs, management of the marketing function, understanding of the art and science of communications and understanding the capabilities of the business and how it connects these to customers’ needs, wants and desires. Marketing is an applied science, and so a feature of this degree is exploring current marketing problems and crafting possible solutions for real companies to these marketing and business problems.

In the first year of this degree students obtain an understanding of both the foundational principles of marketing and consumer behaviour and how businesses work. In the second year students obtain a deeper understanding of the processes of marketing communications.
