Career options:
Graduates of the BCL (Law and Accounting) programme will be in a position to immediately enter professional legal training, either by sitting the Law Society FE1 examinations for entry to the solicitors’ profession, or by sitting the King’s Inns Barrister-at- Law Degree entrance examinations for entry to the barristers’ profession.
The written and oral skills that law and accounting graduates acquire are also in demand in the public and private sectors in Ireland, as well as in European institutions.
The Law and Accounting degree attracts significant exemptions from relevant accounting bodies and graduates are likely to be primarily focused on a professional accounting qualification and/or a professional tax qualification. Careers in banking and financial institutions are also common options.
