The Equine Business degree offers students insights into the equine business, thoroughbred and sport horse breeding and riding, and its management here in Ireland and internationally. The course combines a comprehensive business degree with an equine business specialism, granting students the ability to engage with a rapidly changing world by creating value for the equine industry and the wider economy.

This course requires 2 additional subjects Mature students - Information:
A mature student is 23 years or older by 1st January in the year of entry to the University. For part-time degrees the mature age is 21. Admission is based on your application. Written assessment and/or interview.
O4/H7 Leaving Certificate Mathematics or equivalent is required.
Apply to the CAO by February 1st 2018. Late applications from mature students may be accepted after this date - consult the Undergraduate Studies website for updates. Application may not be made to the CAO after May 1st 2018.
Mature students must complete the CAO section for mature applicants fully, indicating clearly past or current studies, and outlining educational goals and objectives. Applicants are assessed on the basis of the information provided on their CAO application form. All questions should be answered in full.
Mature student applicants who have a disability If you have a disability or specific learning difficulty (e.g. dyslexia), and require examination support for the written tests, please submit supporting documentation by 1 March 2018 to the Access Office. Unfortunately we are unable to consider applications for alternative examination accommodation after this deadline. |

Leaving Certificate applicants are required to present (as a minimum): 2H5 & 4O6/H7, O6/H7 in Irish, English & O4/H7 Mathematics. Points not listed for 2016 as this is a new entry route for 2017.

A range of equine, business and management subjects are taken across the three years of the programme. Each year you develop your understanding of the business and how to manage within the equine industry and a wider appreciation of business, marketing and management. Students who opt in 2nd year to take a placement in 3rd year (subject to availability) are conferred with a BBA in Equine Business after four years. Duration: 3 years (BBS) or 4 years (BBA)
