Since September 2013, First Year Arts students at Kilkenny Campus have enjoyed an interesting and diverse introduction to university life.
Students have benefitted greatly from the smaller class sizes, student-focused learning environment, and the vibrant campus community.

This course requires 3 additional subjects Mature students - Information:
A mature student is 23 years or older by 1st January in the year of entry to the University. For part-time degrees the mature age is 21. Admission is based on your application and/or interview.
Apply to the CAO by February 1st 2018. Late applications from mature students may be accepted after this date - consult the Undergraduate Studies website for updates. Application may not be made to the CAO after May 1st 2018.
Mature students must complete the CAO section for mature applicants fully, indicating clearly past or current studies, and outlining educational goals and objectives. Applicants are assessed on the basis of the information provided on their CAO application form. All questions should be answered in full.
Mature student applicants who have a disability If you have a disability or specific learning difficulty (e.g. dyslexia), and require examination support for the written tests, please submit supporting documentation by 1 March 2018 to the Access Office. Unfortunately we are unable to consider applications for alternative examination accommodation after this deadline. |

Leaving Certificate applicants are required to present (as a minimum): 2H5 & 4O6/H7 and O6/H7 in Irish, English, 3rd language. AQA in 2016 (All Qualified Applicants were offered a place).

DARE: The Disability Access Route to Education is a third level alternative admissions scheme for school-leavers whose disabilities have had a negative impact on their second level education.

As an Arts graduate you will have versatility on your side.
Over the course of your three or four year degree you gain valuable skills including the hugely important ability to think critically and analytically. Our Arts graduates emerge as flexible thinkers who are ready for the challenges of the modern workplace in the years following graduation. Apart from professions requiring specialist training such as engineering and science, most career options are wide open to Maynooth’s Arts graduates. With about 40% of graduate jobs open to any discipline (gradireland.com), the quality of your degree and your ability to communicate your experience is often far more important than the content of your subjects.
