Overview | |
---|---|
The Spanish Civil War is one of the key moments of contemporary Spanish history, and for that reason it has been widely studied from different perspectives. Culturally the conflict has produced an extremely rich corpus of work from areas such as painting, cinema and literature. However, women’ perspectives and creations have been understudied until relatively recently. This course will examine the conflict through the eyes of women both as creators and witnesses. We will analyse the core texts in the light of their depiction of Spanish society during and after the war with regard to the role of women. |
