To enable students to critcally analyse social policy debates and issues in the context of promoting action to realise rights.
Module Content:

Human rights, identity based/recognition issues and socio-economic equality (re-distribution)
Theories of rights, recognition and re-distribution
Critique of policy proofing initiatives; mainstreaming and specific targeted policy responses
Barriers to realising rights
Taking action to realise rights
