Policy analysis is the systematic evaluation of alternative solutions (policies) that are put in place or proposed to tackle social problems or achieve social goals.
This module is designed to address two skill sets.

This module critically examines how policy problems are represented and how problem streams, policy streams and political streams interact. Also, it presents a step-by-step guide to: identifying specific policies, examining the values involved, identifying stakeholders and decision-makers, assessing the resources needed to implement a policy, and measuring its effects on real life.

Second, this module aims to enable students develop relevant research skills for policy analysis such as defining and designing a research project; reviewing literature; framing research questions; writing a research proposal; exploring different prototypes for research projects.
