The repeat option for this course consists of a supplemental assessment submitted for marking at the Autumn exam board meeting. The supplemental assessment is unavailable to students with less than a 50% attendance rate. Failure to attend at least 50% of the classes will result in a module mark capped at 35%.
Students who take a critical skills course (thematic or universal) and do not pass can resit the assessment over the summer. As the supplemental assessment replicates only a portion of the course work, it is unavailable to students with less than a 50% attendance rate. The supplemental assessment of CA will consist of writing assignments that will be submitted through Moodle. Detailed instructions will be emailed to students following the release of official results. Supplemental CA will be capped at 40%.
Alternatively, a student may register to take the summer critical skills course. This is in effect starting a new module, and it will be coded as a deficit module if the student is already registered for 60 credits. Taking this will involve additional fees, and attendance requirements. This option is open to:
a. Students who did not take critical skills before.
b. Students who took critical skills and did not pass. However note that students will not be able to earn credits for critical skills twice, and that under no circumstances will a student earn more than 15 credits for critical skills.
