Overview | |
---|---|
Using the celebrated narrative tradition of medieval Ireland only as a quarry for heroic, mythological or pagan motifs, or as an entertaining window on the past, is turning a blind eye on the contemporary intellectual, literary and historical fabric into which those tales were woven by their composers. In this module, the students will read selected pieces of the Irish saga tradition and subject them to a full textual analysis and interpretation. |
