Module objective: To develop knowledge and expertise in ethical issues and guidelines for responsible conduct relevant to the study and application of psychological science with special relevance to the field of research.
Module content: Ethical and professional standards and obligations under codes of ethics; applicable laws and statutory requirements; informed consent; minimal intrusiveness; protecting confidentiality; ensuring dignity, health and safety; guidelines for responsible conduct; ethical issues arising from the use of the research methods in psychology; where appropriate, preparing an application to a relevant research ethics review body in collaboration with the research supervisor.
