	Module Content: Students take three options from those available. The options may vary from year to year and available places in certain options may be restricted. A variety of advanced and current topics in psychology will be examined. Electives currently offered in PS316 include: Applied Behaviour Analysis; Comparative Psychology; Healthy Ageing; Psychology in the 'Real' World; The Mirror Neuron System and Language. Module Objective: To explore a range of advanced and current issues in psychology. The module will help students to develop a general and integrative appreciation of psychology as a research and professional discipline.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Explain the core concepts and issues within three advanced or specialist areas of the discipline of psychology; Critically evaluate the core theories within selected areas; Analyse the research evidence within selected areas; Apply a range of practical approaches and/or theoretical perspectives in addressing advanced issues in contemporary psychological science.
