	Module Content: Social psychology and the built environment. Social relationships and prosocial behaviour. Theories of intergroup conflict. The dynamics of large scale social problems such as population growth, pollution and war. Group processes and decision making in legal and political contexts. Social psychology in the courtroom. Creating social contexts for a happy and healthy society. Psychological views on how to create a social utopia. Module Objective: To explore advanced conceptual issues in social psychology and the application of social psychology to real-world problems.

Module Objective: To explore advanced conceptual issues in social psychology and the application of social psychology to real-world problems.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Provide examples of large-scale social problems that can be understood as psychological problems; Assess the effectiveness of social psychological solutions for the wider problems of society; Review prominent theoretical and empirical accounts of how to effect large-scale behaviour change; Illustrate the application of social psychological findings in interventions designed to ameliorate social problems; Construct an appraisal, informed by the relevant literature, of a current topic in social psychology.
