Module Content: The biological basis of rudimentary and complex issues such as stress, sleep, learning and memory. Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Neurotransmitters, chemistry and receptor type. Modern neuroscientific techniques. Functions of the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital lobes. Practical work exploring a scientific topic in biological psychology.

Module Objective: To introduce how the brain and neurotransmitters influence various aspects of behaviour. To examine modern neuroscientific research techniques. To examine illnesses associated with degeneration of the brain and neurons.
