On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

demonstrate mastery of the material researched;

offer a personal assessment of a significant topic of debate in philosophy;

display critical written communication skills and an appropriate style of philosophical writing;

present a scholarly academic essay following academic standards of referencing (as laid out by the MHRA Style Book).
