This module runs full-time over four months from May to August as an individual research project, in pairs with a classmate and/or in collaboration with an industry partner. Within this module, students strategically select a research topic with the highest potential for positive career impact, and use it to directly implement and demonstrate their learnings from the MSc. Projects must show evidence of the full design innovation process from primary user centred research through to market validation, costing and implementation plan. The project is captured in a written dissertation and presented to the class (and senior management representatives if working with an industry partner) where students can discuss and defend their work.
