• Strategically analyse an organisation’s requirements, context and capabilities for innovation.
• Carry out rigorous and focused field research and develop innovation proposals that are rigorously defensible and appropriate to an organisation’s strategic objectives and constrained capabilities.
• Prepare clear implementation proposals and defend these in a presentation forum.

• 20 class contact hours for ongoing project reviews Self-directed project work 300 hours Each learner will be allocated a project supervisor on commencement of the module. The supervisor will meet with the learner at commencement and at least once per three weeks. A project log, including records of supervision meetings, will be kept by the learner.

• Module Graded (numeric value) or Ungraded (Pass/Not Passed): Graded
• Continuous Assessment detail(s): 30,000 word report or equivalent 80% Presentation and defence of work to class/reviewers 20%

• Pass standard: 40%
• Could the result of this module be capped? No
• At the discretion of the department, a learner may be required to attend for an oral examination. The objective of the oral examination will be to confirm the learner’s overall command of the thesis and to confirm that the material was the learner’s own work. There will be no separate marks for the oral examination.
• Penalties: 10% penalty (for late submission of any assessment component) per week-day late or part thereof. Standard Dept of Design Innovation penalties apply, including individual component requirements. All individual assignment elements must be submitted.
