Semester: Year-Long
Department: DESIGN INNOVATION

Coordinator: Martin Ryan (DESIGN INNOVATION), Trevor Vaugh (DESIGN INNOVATION)
Overview Overview

This module runs throughout semesters 1 and 2, and operates in a workshop fashion with both group and individual activities. In each semester a simulated real-life innovation scenario will be studied. The learners will research the challenge, develop and implement a suitable innovation strategy, and propose a new innovative solution. This will involve a process of research, ideation, selection and market validation in support of the proposed solution. In semester 1 students will undertake a team project and semester 2 will focus on individual work. Both projects will engage with real industry partners and a current, topical brief. Regular workshop sessions will be used for peer review, development of ideas and presentation of
developments.
