This module teaches students ergonomics, aesthetics and usability and the importance of these in product design. Students learn how to apply these principles to practical projects and to appreciate the importance of user centred design in the design process. Topics covered include; fields of ergonomics-physical and cognitive, elements of aesthetics- colour and composition, anthropometric tables and percentiles, user experience and user centred design, tools and approaches for usability testing, improving ergonomics in everyday products.
