	Overview
	Following five lectures on research methods and techniques, candidates will be required to submit a proposed dissertation title for approval by the Degree Programme Director using the Proposal Form which is made available by the Module Leader. This will be submitted by mid-April. Candidates will be required to demonstrate familiarity with GIS software and methods in completing the dissertation. The completed dissertations are to be submitted before the end of August.

	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Produce a dissertation with a researchable topic related to the field of geocomputation, with appropriate methods, awareness of appropriate data, implementation and examples. To complete a research leading to a dissertation
