• Explain to a composer the main feature of his/her instrument/voice
• Collaborate with a composer and provide performance input about the new composition at different stages of its composition
• Evaluate the aesthetic and the performance challenges of a newly composed work
• Perform a newly composed piece

• 5 hour tutorials together with composition student with Lecturer in composition and/or Lecturer in Performance and independent study/collaboration with composition students

• Module Graded (numeric value) or Ungraded (Pass/Not Passed): Graded
• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Written report about the collaboration with the composer and the preparation of the piece. The report should include examples of the different compositional stages of the piece and of the input provided by the performer. The performer and composer are expected to give a joint presentation of 10-15 mins in the second semester on the collaborative process (to include a performance of extracts of the work/rejected material as appropriate).
