• to engage with the literature in the chosen topic;
• to contextualise the project within recent research;
• to write a literature review;
• to develop research questions manageable within the constraints of the 10-credit module and assignments/s;
• to write a research paper (or any other format decided in agreement with the lecturer: compositions and technology assessments are also considered).

• Pass standard: 40%
• Could the result of this module be capped? No

• Continuous assessment marks are carried forward to the autumn. Dissertations-theses, recitals and composition-music technology portfolios presented for the first time in the Autumn Supplemental Examination Session will be capped at 40% in the absence of fully proven mitigating circumstances.
