	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Outline the history of jazz in the USA, c.1890s �1980s Identify a range of jazz styles, based on compositional, performance, and improvisational practices Apply listening skills and analytical reasoning to a variety of representative jazz recordings Evaluate the relationship between jazz and twentieth-century American culture and society
